04-09-20 Manny is a beautiful crossbreed who has come all the way from Romania to find a loving, safe home to call his own for the very first time. He and his siblings were found roaming in Romania and caught by tthe dog catcher. This involved using a pole and dragging the dogs, terrified to a van. They were saved from the shelter which so many dogs do not see the light of day from but he was taken to a rescue in the hope of finding a home. He has waited and waited but no home came so he is now here and we have promised him a new life and he is full of hope. Manny is understandably rather nervous of his new surroundings but with the help of another dog already living in his new home lending him some much needed confidence and showing him home skills like housetraining and how to walk on a lead he will come round. He needs time, patience and lots of love. He is around Lab sized but is more slightly built. He has a passport.

24-09-20 UPDATE
Manny has made huge progress since coming to Many Tears. He is of a calm demeanour and is very alert.
He is the height of a labrador and has a light frame. This boy is good natured with other dogs and humans, although he can present as being somewhat aloof until he gets to know you, but that is not unusual, they need to learn to trust that we mean them no harm.
He is extremely agile and has no problem scaling the six foot fencing surrounding the rescue's exercise area, hence when in the garden in his new home he MUST Be fully supervised and / or a long line.

30-09-20 UPDATE

Manny is still here waiting for his forever home! How can this be? He is such a beautiful boy with so much love to give. He gets on well with other dogs, loves being around people and is a bit of a cuddle monster. Today he enjoyed his walk especially when he saw the horse. Manny has seen all his friends leave for their happy ever after so now it's his turn!!

Is there anyone who has a minimum height of a seven foot fence or someone who would be willing to extend to this height, easily done if your fence has wooden posts. This precious boy is wonderful with everyone and every way apart from cats and being able to jump a six foot fence from standing. Apart from being able to jump a great height, Manny is a very calm boy, he has been kenneled with big and small dogs, and is a brilliant role model to the scared. He is a delight to walk on the lead and easy to keep safe as we use a long line with the end secured to our wrist with a slip knot. Manny has waited a long time to be chosen, he has seen kennel friends come and go, it would be so sad if he was still in kennels at Christmas.

03-11-20 UPDATE

3 whole months in kennels ... can you imagine!? I feel SO sorry for this poor boy. I know we’re looking for a very specific garden for him, but surely there’s someone out there! We’re looking for a garden with a wall or fence that is flat so he won’t be able to climb up it, and it must be at LEAST 7 foot tall. We’ve seen this boy jump very high even when he’s being supervised, so this is absolutely crucial.
Manny has progressed a lot in the months he’s been here, so we do now think he could be homed as an only dog in the right home. His people would need to be home most of the time, and have some experience with nervous or rescue dogs. He could also be homed with other dogs, but no cats.
He’s a beautiful boy who just loves to be cuddled and kissed, I think he’ll be a sofa dog once he settles in his home. He loves going out for walks, loves his food, and just loves life in general really. I’d hate for him to start losing his spark because he’s been here for so long.

03-12-20 UPDATE
So I've only just met Manny for the first time today and what a lovely sweet boy he is. Very calm and quiet and very loving. He was a bit nervous of me when I first approached him but with some soft spoken words of encouragement he was happy to come and say hello and then we both enjoyed a nice cuddle. He really does have so much love to give. His only issue is that he does like to escape, and he is very good at it. He will climb the highest of fences without much trouble. Therefore whoever is lucky enough to adopt this lovely boy will need to build up a bond with him before he will be able to be let off lead which might take some time, even in the garden he will need to be on a lead until that bond is established but once it is you really will have a best friend for life and will see just how beautiful this boy really is.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
