If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

06-04-20 Roxy is a 4 year old Old Tyne Bulldog who has come to us to find her forever home. She is gorgeous and was given to us as her previous owners found her a local foster home, but it didn't work out between Roxy and their resident dog. She was briefly adopted but that also didn't work out and we are looking for a home experience with the strength and stubbornness of this breed and without any children or cats.  Roxy travels well in the car, walks nicely on a lead and is so sad in kennels, she spends all day curled up in her bed waiting for people to come and give her some love. She enjoys a short walk, but lets you know when she wants to go back.
Roxy is wonderful, all the members of staff love her, she just needs someone to take her on and not give up on her. If you know the breed and their special ways then please consider taking on this stunning girl, she doesn't want long walks or to be busy all the time, she likes sleeping and eating and just having a little tootle about.

07-04-20 UPDATE

Roxy is a dog that is very close to my heart, so I was really upset to find that things didn’t work out in her new home. So now Roxy is back in kennels, but she’s on my section which I’m really happy about. I’ve been spending loads of time with her, having snuggles and playing ball with her whenever I get a spare minute. She has so much love to give, and all she wants is someone who can give her the same back.
We do need a very specific home for Roxy. She must be an only dog in a cat free home, she can’t live with children, and her new owner or owners must be fit and capable of handling her. She’s very easy to control as she has been trained - but she’s an extremely strong and powerful girl, so being able to manage her is a must. Having bulldog experience would also be a great advantage, as having knowledge of the breed would be very handy.
Roxy walks well on a lead, she knows commands such as sit, paw, gently, leave it and stay, she listens extremely well, and she’s an absolute cuddle monster. I mean really, what more could you want from a dog? Roxy’s favourite thing to do is run around the sand school like a looney for 2 minutes, then to sit next to me (or on my lap usually) and have bum scratches or ear massages. She doesn’t like to have too much exercise, because she’s a typical bulldog, so her new family don’t necessarily need to be overly active. But like I said before, they will need to be strong and able. However, she LOVES having a fuss and attention off people. I imagine she’d make the best companion in a home, and she’d give the best snuggles when sitting on the sofa watching the telly. That’s all Roxy wants, and it’s what she deserves!
I know it sounds like we’re asking a lot, and it may put some of you off Roxy and make you think she has loads of issues, but I can assure you she doesn’t. She’s probably the most well behaved dog on my section, and definitely the most intelligent. Everyone here at Many Tears adores her, and rightly so. Spending quality time with her is my favourite part of the day, and I know it’s hers too. I’ve bonded with Roxy and I really do love her to bits, so all I want is to find her a perfect forever home. She needs to be shown love, kindness and compassion every single day of her life, because I can assure you she’ll give the same back to you.

Roxy is a very adoring Olde Tyme Bulldog and at 4 years of age is certainly not an olde tymer! For her size and breed she can be quite playful at times and does like to have a good run about in one of the sand schools before settling down for a cuddle. Roxy is a very loyal girl and she would follow you everywhere if she could. She sure knows how to make you feel bad by giving you the sad eye treatment when you leave her to see to some of the other lonely residents here.
Roxy unfortunately can be a little reactive to other dogs that pass by her kennel when going out to the play yard. We are working with her on that though and hope to improve her socialising skills in situations like this which will help her later in life . For this reason, Roxy's ideal home right now would be one as an only dog and with someone who will be at home most of the day to keep her company. She really doesn't ask for much and will be more than happy with 2 or 3 short walks a day and a good friend to share a new life with.
✔️ Can be an only dog
✔️ Walks on a lead
✔️ Loves the company of people
✔️ Cat free home needed

21-05-20 UPDATE
Roxy is an amazing dog and such fun to be with. I have looked after her for the last four days and she has truly brightened my working day.
This is a girl who just loves the company of humans, if I could have spent all day sat in her basket with her then we would have had one very happy girl, but she accepts being on her own for long periods being quiet and calm, never being destructive.
All our dogs in rescue are very special, but Roxy is unique. Every day individual members of staff find the time in their very busy day to visit her or take her for a walk, she is so very pleased to see everyone and it breaks the monotony of a kennel being her home whilst she is with us.
Roxy is looking forward to her forever family finding her and to spend her days being the centre of attention. "Look into my eyes and how could you not love my squishy face?"

Although ROXY ^ is by donation rather than the full adoption fee, we ask for a minimum donation of £150 to help cover our costs. All dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
