If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

18-06-19 Isla is a 5 year old ex-breeding Bichon. She is a very calm girl who's easy to handle and stood perfectly still whilst having her paws trimmed. Isla is a bit overwhelmed by her new surroundings and will need a kind and confident dog in her new home who can teach her what home life is like and who she can watch and then start to copy which will help her with house training and lead walking etc.  Poor Isla is missing a large patch of hair on her back which is probably due to hormonal alopecia and once she is spayed this should start to grow back.

18-07-19 UPDATE
Isla is a very sweet girl. She can be rather nervous on first meet but soon settles and knows that you are OK. Isla gets on very well with her kennel friends and loves the company of another dog! She really does like a good comfy bed so she can have lots of naps after a play in the yard. Isla would best suit a home that's calm and quiet as loud noises do make her nervous, she would also need a calm resident dog to show her the ropes of home life and toilet training! Isla doesn't mind being fussed handled or picked up and cuddle into. She doesn't yet walk on a harness and lead but her kennel worker is working on this and hopefully it won't be long before she starts to enjoy the big wide world outside

30-07-19 UPDATE

Isla is quite an independent lady and not the type to always want to be at the front of the crowd. But that's not a bad thing! She does enjoy being around her friends though so we really would like for her to benefit from sharing a home with another calm confident dog that can help her on her new journey. Isla has started harness training and after a period of uncertainty with all the new strange sounds and sights, she settled down really well to take her first steps and was happy to carry on walking for a couple of minutes while just being in the moment. Hopefully with another confident dog by her side over the next few days she will soon be a pro at this. You can see what a beautiful soul she really is from the photo so please consider her if your looking for a bichon companion.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS
The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

In certain circumstances and in particular when it is one of our long term stayers or a dog who is difficult to home we may transport it down the M4 as far as Reading if the adopter is not able to travel for a valid reason. This will only happen on a Sunday and will be part of our Foster Run where we transport dogs to their foster homes. There will be and additional charge of £20 transport fee for this and the adopter must be able to travel to the allocated service station. Please think very carefully before asking for a dog to be transported as if you already have a dog there is no guarantee they will get along with the new dog or vice versa and you will need to be able to hold on to the dog until the following week and meet the van again if you wish to return the dog.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
