If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

31-05-19 -Caper is a very nervous Cocker Spaniel who has come from a breeder. She will let you pick her up but is very stiff, frozen in her fears and worry. She will need a lot of kindnes and gentle encouragement for her to understand that the world doesn't have to be scary to her.  Caper needs to have another dog or dogs to help her learn how to be loved and help her copy new skills like house training and will be best in a calm, quiet and gentle home.

14-06-19 UPDATE

Poor Caper has needed an operation to remove a piece of wood from the roof of her mouth that had lodged itself so completely that she needed to have a tooth removed as well as the whole area had started to decay and caused an infection in her tooth and mouth. Our vet has removed the wood and Caper can now start to recover and will have antibiotics for the infection. She will be feeling much better very soon.

18-06-2019 UPDATE

Caper has recovered well from her operation and the infection is starting to clear.  She is still a very nervous girl and although she does try her best to come to see you, she just isn't there with her confidence yet but as you can see from the picture she did try to come over.  Caper will need to have another dog in her new home and I think once she learns about love and affection she will be just perfect.

09-07-19 UPDATE
Caper is a becoming less nervous of people over time and is starting to show her beautiful personality when she is in her playful mood. She has recently been a little down after her operation but is now looking better in herself and she can't wait to come out of the kennel again to go out in the play yard. She is always the first to the gate and will insist on following you out every time you go in to change the water bowls, bedding etc. She's not so keen on leaving when it's feeding time though!
As Caper is not yet confident to walk on a lead, we will be trying to work with her on a harness now that she is ready. This lovely lady has been through a lot in her life so far and we think she deserves a special loving home with people who can be patient with her on the transition to a new better one. Caper gets on well with all sized dogs and she currently shares a kennel with 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs and a Shih Tzu Cross.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
