30-05-19 - Always is quiet nervous girl who has come from a breeder. She is shy when you touch or approach her. She will flinch and hide at the back of the kennels. If you are able to get close enough and pick her up then she is tense but after a few minutes of handling she will push her head into you and really enjoys being there so much that she really relaxes. With a little more pratice and gentle encouragement she will enjoy it and look forward to being loved. She will need a calm environment and a resident dog of a similar size to her to help her learn new skills like housetraining and walking on a lead. She s beautiful and will get there in time with your help and kindness.

08-07-19 UPDATE

Always (or Abbie as she is known inb foster) is progressing slowly. She enjoys her food, sleeps through the night (in a puppy pen with my other dogs) and her house training is coming along really well, although she does need you to go outside with her at the moment.
She's a very quiet dog who panics easily, so she'll definitely need a resident dog about her size to help her along. Although she's worried, she's now started to wag her tail, play with the toys and with my other dogs which is a good sign. At the moment it's a case of building trust with her so that she interacts more freely with humans. She's not easy to catch, but once you do, she loves to sit beside you for a cuddle and stroke, either inside the house or in the garden. If you feel you can help Always, please apply and I'm sure she'll reward you in time.

05-08-19 UPDATE
Always is progressing well, although she's still nervous around people, but is a lot better than when she first came here. She really wants to trust you, but seems to have good days and bad days. She's now house trained, but sometimes needs you to go out into the garden with her and she's walking on a lead (I walk her double leashed as she's still frightened and will panic at loud noises). Whilst walking is not her favourite thing to do, she's gaining in confidence every day. As you can see from the latest photo, her coat is a lot better and growing well. She's a sweet quiet little girl who always looks very serious (she has a beautiful face), so if you feel you can lighten her load, please apply and give her the love and attention she deserves.

12-08-19 UPDATE

Always is doing well. She's enjoying attention more and more and loves to either sit with you on the sofa, or if you don't lift her up (she can't figure out how to jump up!) she'll sit on your feet. She also likes to follow you around so that she knows where you are. She's enjoying her walks now and gets excited with the other dogs when the harnesses/leads are picked up. She does still react to loud noises, but is coping better. Always will need the companionship of a kind gentle dog (of a similar size, either male or female) to live with as she's very subservient.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
